This is a two-part webinar series on DEIA—Adding Accessibility to DEI frameworks to broaden systemic efforts for redressing exclusion by promoting and valuing the inclusion of people with disabilities (who may need greater accessibility) into higher education and employment settings. Webinar 1 is DEIA: Understanding the Issues. This provides a broad background on reasons for the emergence of these frameworks. Webinar 2, Putting DEIA Into Practice, drills down to provide concrete examples of how campuses and employers are implementing DEIA approaches and why they value this new framework.

Following this program, you will be able to:

• Describe three parallels between the Civil Rights and the Disability Rights movements;
• Identify five reasons why higher education and employers value diversity, including disability; and
• Propose two steps you or your colleagues could take to infuse DEIA mindset or practices into your campus or workplace.
