The career development field is gaining momentum on many fronts: National Certification has launched, provincial associations are collaborating, some investments in our sector are expanding, and we see a growing public demand for meaningful career services. But there is still an enormous need for advocacy around stronger policy and funding support for our vitally important work. AND here’s the thing: the most powerful evidence to keep this momentum going and support needed advocacy isn’t sitting in a report somewhere — it’s in your hands.

Every day, Career Development Professionals witness life-changing impacts that go far beyond “employed or in training.” You see the transformation, hear the stories, and hold the data that can help policy makers, funders, and communities truly understand the value of what we do. You may not think of yourself as a researcher, but you already have the insights and evidence that matter most.

In this interactive ChatCDP session, we’ll explore simple, practical ways to capture and share your impact — without adding “full-time researcher” to your job description. Together, we’ll move beyond traditional outcomes to track and tell the real stories of change in our work, helping to shape the future of our field. Let’s turn our everyday practice into a powerful force for advocacy, visibility, and lasting change.

The Career Development Professional Centre is thrilled to bring you ChatCDP – an opportunity to meaningfully connect with others working within career development and employment services, from coast to coast to coast.

ChatCDP is for those who crave connections with colleagues. It is an opportunity to embrace the power of collaboration as CDPs from various backgrounds, work settings, and regions unite to lean on and learn from each other, share insights, celebrate successes, and experience the power of career development.

Together, we’ll create a dynamic and connected Canadian CDP Community where everyone has a voice—one chat at a time!
