Session Description:

At the heart of indigenous worldviews is the belief that we are part of the natural rather than separate from it. Our traditional knowledge and cultures recognize the interconnection between all living beings and the environment. In this session, we will explore literature that highlights this worldview and discuss how to apply it to our daily lives.  

We will examine both traditional and contemporary literature, including poetry. We will also explore traditional ecological knowledge and how it can inform our approaches to environmental conservation and management. With this knowledge, we can develop strategies to address the environmental challenges facing our community today.  

Join us as we dive into the intersections of indigenous worldview and environmental literature.  

Facilitated by: Raymond Sewell

Facilitator Bio:

Raymond Sewell is an accomplished L’nu poet, singer-songwriter, and English professor hailing from Pabineau, First Nation, New-Brunswick. With a passion for language, culture, and music, Raymond has been a driving force in showcasing the rich diversity of Indigenous artistry through creative works and academic pursuits.
